Trip to Liverpool, September 2002

[2026] Our first trip to Liverpool in September 2002 was a Superbreak “short break”, “The Beatles Story”, with a two-night stay at the Adelphi Hotel with dinner, bed and breakfast, and entry to The Beatles Story museum on Albert Dock.    Monday 2 September 2002 We travelled by train From Cleethorpes to Liverpool Lime Street.   We didn’t know where the hotel was, so we got a taxi; and seemingly no sooner had we started out, than we halted outside it.  Adelphi Hotel  Adelphi Hotel: imposing lobby pictured in a bygone era  We went to Reception to register, and were given our room-key and a card which we were to present to staff when we went for dinner and breakfast. Souvenir “Beatles” postcards Tuesday 3 September 2002 We returned to outside the Queen Square Centre in time for the 2.40pm-scheduled departure of the “Magical Mystery Tour”.
