[2022] [Wednesday 25 May 2022] 01:50 Arr. Leeds Bradford airport G— B— “We arrived Leeds Bradford at ca.3am,” Janet wrote — but since the scheduled landing was 01:50, I guess this should be “ca.2am” — “and were amazed to find the airport nearly empty. What a contrast to last Monday! It was cold!” Janet mentions nothing about passport control and baggage reclaim. “We found G—, and it was just light when we arrived home at ca.4.30am. Bed! A marvellous holiday!” There was a pile of mail, which we just put aside and didn’t look at. After emptying pockets, etc., I realised that I didn’t have my mobile phone. But there was nothing to be done about it at that late hour, and we got ready for bed. Janet got up first. Because G— B—’s number was saved on the mobile phone and we didn’t have any other record of it, she phoned the taxi firm (ca.8.15am) and asked them to give G— a message about the missing phone… I rang my mobile phone number (8.35am), just in case someone would pick it up, but there was no reply. I sorted the pile of mail that we’d found behind the door last night; this included birthday cards, which I opened… There was a knock on the front door: G— B— with my mobile phone, which must have fallen out of my jacket pocket onto the seat. It had received a text message (perhaps sent at 07:46 EEST):
… I replied…:
