At the top of the page for 23–26 January there is a note—

CHEM
—presumably some sort of revision-plan prior to the exams. In the NOTES section is this note:

Pay Mrs. Smith for badge.
The diary-entry proper for today is as follows:

School as usual. New
CA Badge being noticed—e.g.
witnessed to Blundell. Met Aud
out of School—came to our house for
tea. Elsie Wrigglesworth at
church on “fire”. Great blessing. Aud & I
feel some call from God—strange
feeling.
I had got a new Christ’s Ambassador” badge at church. That is the significance of the note Pay Mrs. Smith for badge.
