At the top of the page for 16–19 January there is a note—

MATHS
—presumably some sort of revision-plan prior to the exams. The diary-entry proper for today is as follows:


In bed morning with cold
and aching back so read
Bible & did some Physics
revision at nig aft. & night.
Felt blessed when prayed but am
still lacking in faith.
