1966

In the NOTES section for this week, I wrote:

WHAT ABOUT FAITH?
WHAT ABOUT CENSUS?
AND → • ?
WHAT ABOUT IT?
I was evidently trying to encourage myself to resume a life of faith, overcome the habit of “”, and resume my doing the religious census on the knocker. The diary-entry proper for today is as follows:

Went up Tower
with Aud.

    ——
As mentioned yesterday, there was 1 x “” on the line separating Sunday and today. In addition, there were 2 x “”, presumably early on Monday, and 2 x “”, late on Monday.

Went up Tower with Aud: Audrey and I went to the top of Blackpool Tower. While we were up there she posted to me a giant picture-postcard of the tower, rubber-stamped “Posted from the top of Blackpool Tower”.

She wrote an inconsequential, silly, humorous message on it:

Once
there was a dark dark
wood,
and in this
dark dark wood there
was a dark dark house
and in this
dark dark house there
was a dark dark room
and in this
dark dark room there
was a dark dark corner
and in this
dark dark corner
there was a dark dark
cupboard
and in this
dark dark cupboard there
was a
BOOK.
from Me.
